[ May 31, 2010; ] For Memorial Day – May 31, 2010 – all active-duty, reserve, auxiliary and retired U.S. military personnel and their dependents are invited to take advantage of free admission at all Pearl Harbor Historic Sites.

Historic Pearl Harbor, site of the infamous attack that drew the United States into World War, is now home to museums and memorials honoring war veterans, lost soldiers and civilians. Visitors to Hawaii should try to fit at least a couple of these moving sites into their vacation schedule.

[ December 7, 2009; 1:30 pm; ] The public is invited to attend a special ceremony hosted by the National Park Service in honor of those who served on the USS Oklahoma during the attack on Pearl Harbor.
