Free Honolulu Festival – 3/13 & 3/14
On March 13 and 14, 2010, it’s the 16th annual Honolulu Festival. It’s Hawai‘i’s premier cultural festival celebrating the music, arts and people of the Pacific Rim and Hawai‘i, and it’s free.
Under the banner “Pacific Harmony” and theme of “Discovery Through Tradition,” the festival is an educational and entertainment extravaganza featuring performers and exhibits from Japan, China, Taiwan, Korea, Philippines, Australia, Tahiti, Alaska, and Hawaii.
There will be:
- Free, live performances of music and culture, art exhibits
- Friendship Gala at the Hawaii Convention Center, March 13
- Waikiki Grand Parade along Kalakaua Avenue, March 14

The three day extravaganza occurs every year in March on a weekend from Friday through Sunday. Dance performances and traditional art demonstrations are displayed by artisans from Japan, Australia, Tahiti, Philippines, Republic of China (Taiwan), Korea, Hawaii and the rest of the United States. The Festival culminates with a spectacular parade down Kalakaua Avenue in Waikiki, Hawaii.
Honolulu Festival activities are held at various locations in the heart of the city, making them easily accessible to residents and visitors alike. Moreover, admission to all Festival events is free, ensuring that everyone can take part in the festivities.
