On February 11, 2010 from 6:30 to 8:30 pm the Waikiki Aquarium hosts an evening with photographer Flip Nicklin. Among Giants, My Life with Whales is a free presentation, but you DO need to register in advance to attend. Here’s a little bit more about the presentation:

Flip Nicklin is widely regarded as one of the world’s premier whale photographers. The National Geographic’s marine photographer and co-founder of Whale Trust, he has spent a career under the waves, capturing phenomenal images of whales and dolphins. On Feb. 11, Nicklin comes to the Waikïkï Aquarium for a special presentation, co-sponsored by NOAA’s Hawaiian Islands Humpback Whale National Marine Sanctuary. Nicklin will discuss the changing view of whales and how science and the National Geographic’s programs and images have fostered a shift in our perception of these amazing marine mammals. The Natural Selection Gift Shop will be open with Nicklin’s books for sale and there will be an opportunity to have your book signed by the author.
