Furlough Fridays: Mission Houses Museum
For Teachers: It’s your day at the museum! All Hawaii teachers are welcome to visit Mission Houses Museum for a FREE tour and enjoy 10 percent off in the Museum Store and Café and Tea Parlor. Explore 19th century Hawaii and discover how the museum’s school programs address the standards you teach. 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. with tours at 11 a.m., 1 p.m. and 2:45 p.m. Please bring your ID.
For Children: Listening to the Past – What will you hear when you listen to the stories of the past? What if buildings could talk? Make the past come alive for your keiki at the Mission Houses Museum. Listen to the stories of the New England Protestant Missionaries inside of the 1821 Frame House, and at the Mission Cemetery where many of them still reside. Learn about and play Hawaiian and Missionary games to get the feel for a time without TV, Nintendo™ games, or computers. Furlough Fridays from 9am – 11am. Cost: $6 per child.
